P5: How the information is used and how it is processed within Dawid's Sports.

Management information systems fro Dawid's Sports.

Management information system allows a business to have an advantage over the competition, by researching relevant information in order to maximise their profit and the efficiency that they have within their business sector.

I am going to use my business (small business game) as an example for the different systems below:

Marketing
I have created reports at the end of each week using the information systems, telling me of my profit, if any. It also informed me about the products, when I could buy certain stock and if they were selling well or not. At this point, I could use this particular system to decide what action to take when trying to make my business more known and profitable.

Sales performance
I can also use the system to look at how my business performs in terms of sales. What sells well and what doesn't? Do I need to bring in more stock or not? Should I reduce price on some items? Such systems and reports can help me decide what action I need to take in order to increase the performance of my sales and the business itself.

Competitors
There weren't any competitors, although if there was, what I would do is gather information on what my competitors sell and at what price, so that I could match the prices for example however needed.

Financial
I can look at my weekly reports and gather information on all the finances going through my business. Such information can be kept in spreadsheets and databases which allow for easy tracking of the profits, loses etc.
By using this system, I can predict if I am going to make a profit or loss for example. I could then take important actions upon that if I make a loss, so that I can then seek financial help if needed.

Human Resources
By using the human resources system, I can see to my employee's needs and what's their working performance. If they are not working well, are unmotivated, I can then take relevant actions to change that.
